Jamestown’s FLES program was first implemented in 2008. The purpose of the FLES Spanish Program is to prepare students to begin developing functional skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish while encouraging all students to develop an openness, understanding, and appreciation for other cultures. In order to implement the Spanish curriculum into the schedule, students receive additional art and music time but lose most early-release Wednesdays.
